John 1:4-5 — The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
Out of Darkness, Columbus, OH is a chapter of the anti-trafficking ministry of Atlanta Dream Center, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. We believe that we are called to be God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He can make in them- from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.(1 Peter 2:9).
Out of Darkness’ Princess Night outreach is working to break the cycle of sex trafficking one woman at a time. Every Friday night Princess Night volunteers share a message of God’s love, hope, and restoration with these misused and hard-to-reach women by handing out roses and handwritten cards of encouragement and scripture. Through consistent outreach we build relationships and establish trust, ultimately offering each woman an opportunity to escape the bondage of sex slavery and embrace physical and spiritual freedom.

The first Monday of every month we gather together in prayer to ask Jesus to break the chains of slavery and bring rescue, healing, and change to our city. Check out our events page on Facebook for specific times and locations. Do you feel led to be a prayer warrior? Contact us for more information on how to join the prayer team.
Allowing traffickers to avoid detection and buyers to easily remain anonymous, hotels are often used in trafficking. We are partnering with the hospitality industry and training local hotel staff on human trafficking and how to report it.
Work alongside Out of Darkness to raise awareness about Human Trafficking and the dynamics driving Commercial Sexual Exploitation and what Out of Darkness is doing to specifically address these issues. Our Ambassadors speak and represent Out of Darkness at various speaking engagements, churches, college campuses, and events.
Not all women who need help are in a position to get to a safe place on their own. Many are forced into the industry and feel as though they have no way out. Whether receiving calls from a hotel room, a payphone, a hospital, a gas station, strip clubs or jail our vision is to help women from places of darkness, offer prayer, and connect them to services to meet their needs.
Transitional Safe Home
Having known only fear, pain, and degradation, our goal will be to provide rescued women a short-term residential program, where they are surrounded with peace, love, and affirmation. Our prayer for 2017-2018 is that we will open a safe refuge where the women will receive initial medical exams and treatment, representation for any immediate legal needs, clothing, and most importantly, the love and support of a new family. The average length of stay at the house will be three weeks. During this time, case managers and residential staff will work with each resident to determine the best long-term program for placement.
Out of Darkness currently partners with existing long-term residential rehabilitation homes all across the United States in order to provide the best holistic care.
