Prayer is central to the Out of Darkness culture and impact. Through live updates and regular gatherings, the Prayer Team is a group of passionate individuals who stand in the gap for the outreaches, staff, volunteers, survivors and community with intercession and encouragement.
Purpose: To undergird all aspects of Out of Darkness with a strong
foundation of prayer, being available to pray 24/7.
Communication: E-mails will be sent as rescues are taking place, or any
prayer needs arise; therefore, we ask that you have regular access to e-mail. We also have a free group messaging app we utilize so you can receive texts of prayer requests.
All are welcome, but we ask that you commit to praying when a rescue is
taking place, an important meeting needs prayer coverage, spiritual
warfare in the safe homes, etc., and coming to the scheduled Prayer Gatherings. If you cannot come, please pray for these gatherings.
Volunteers must be 21 years of age, and this team is open to both men and women. Due to the confidential and sensitive nature of prayer requests shared across teams, it is imperative volunteers applying for this team handles all information shared with honor, integrity, and care. The Out of Darkness Volunteer training is required in order to join and volunteers must also submit an Out of Darkness volunteer application and background check. Once you have attended the training and your application has been processed, you will also be asked to complete an in-person interview as a final step before being approved to join the team.
